This hotel is in a really great location - walking distance to the Forbidden City and Wangfunjing shopping district. Also close to multiple metro stations, and Beijing is easy to navigate by subway. The staff is responsive and efficient - they even responded to multiple emails about my travels before I arrived in Beijing and helped me set up some of my sightseeing. The rooms are very large and clean and comfortable. The only problem I had was the WiFi, which was almost impossible to use at certain times. It worked well early in the morning (before 7a.m.), likely because there was less traffic. So I just got up early, did my emails in the morning, and then didn't bother logging in much for the rest of the day. WiFi was spotty at many places I stayed in China, so I am not sure if this was entirely the Hilton's fault, but it was notable.

The hotel is located close to forbidden city and to Tiananmen. Please remember to order tickets minimum a day in advance. The hotel will help. It’s a walking distance to this location, close to subway and easy to use didi. The staff is trying hard to give you excellent service, but still some step to go. The service was very good all over, room was big, clean and comfortable. Yes very good. All in all close to perfect and I’m looking forward to visit again. Thanks for the excellent service

Excellent service from every staff member at this hotel. We also booked in advance their pick up service from the airport. We were met by a hotel staff member who met us coming off the plane and walked us through customs - luggage and ride pick up - which took about two hours - well worth the money. This hotel is just a block away from a huge shopping district with multiple malls and restaurants. Their staff also helped us out multiple times in securing transportation and tickets to different venues. We were on the 8th floor - very quite - spacious and well appointed room. They offer a breakfast and dinner buffet which are both excellent. Make sure to take some time to spend in their pool and spa area too.

It pains me to say that the customer-facing service quality of the Hilton Beijing Wangfujing has gone down the drain. I've had 10+ stays at this hotel over the past few years, culminating in dozens of nights. I enjoyed my past visits, but the service in this, my latest stay, was just about non-existent. On only my first night back: 1. The doorman refuses to help with the luggage. It is -5 degrees in Beijing, he sees me getting out of the taxi, and just chooses to watch on as I struggle with the luggage. 2. Upon checking in, the room and floor assigned to me (and which I was fine with) assigned to me on the HHonors app was somehow not available. After querying this repeatedly during check-in, somehow the room magically became available again. 3. There's a physical sign in the hotel lobby informing guests that the the hotel was informed by the water authority that the water supply might be disrupted/turned off over the next 24 hours (over night). Having a steady supply of water is a pretty basic service and expectation of any hotel. Why wasn't this message posted on the Hhonors app and and the Hilton website? I would have booked another hotel if had known this. What is the point of just putting up a physical sign when it is too late for incoming guests to change their booking? When queried about this with front desk, they simply threw up their hands and said they only found out today (day of my check in). I booked my stay on the day of my check in, and there was no message on the HHonors App or the hotel website informing guests of this significant disruption. I also checked the HHonors App again when checking in, and can confirm there was still no message informing guests of this disruption. Can only deduce from this that management doesn't seem to care to inform potential guests of this in a way that is actually meaningful. 4. No recognition of HHonors Gold status, or my 10+ previous stays. No room upgrades as per HHonors policy despite room availability, zero additional benefits. Just to reiterate - I am getting absolutely zero benefits from staying at this Hilton-operated hotel from my HHonors status. Why do I choose this place? In addition: 5. No toothbrushes, pens, or spoons and other utensils (i.e. for coffee/tea making) are provided in room. 6. The 'service centre/magic' button on the in-room phone to contact room service/housekeeping/front desk did not function. Had to go upstairs to Exec Lounge to request toothbrush and notify them of problem with the phone. 7. No standard letter-sized envelopes in the room, front desk or anywhere in the hotel. Despite the hotel and the executive lounge specifically advertising itself as being able to cater to business needs. Overall, I would say that the magic of this hotel has well and truly worn off. Previously capable staff have long gone replaced with robotic customer facing staff who have no initiative and are not empowered to provide anything close to resembling good customer service. Only positives were - back of house staff seemed more competent - breakfast was decent despite narrow selection, and housekeeping did a good job. Four star hotel at best. A write up of these issues was sent to Hilton Beijing Wangfujing, and not responded to, reflecting the general lack of customer service from hotel management.

Good stay, staff were very warm and helpful and while the hotel is a bit dated it is well maintained. Location is hard to beat right beside APM Beijing mall Only disappointment were the cockroaches that visited us every day morning and night (see pictures) during our 4 night stay If not for the pests I would have given 5 stars. Breakfast buffet was very good though, very comprehensive spread
